About us

About Conscious Choices

Conscious Choices is a Ugandan planetary health school campaign designed to promote sustainable living, improve human and animal wellbeing, and strengthen environmental stewardship through education and practical learning. The campaign responds to growing ecological and health challenges linked to food systems and climate pressure, including the vulnerability of ecosystems.

Grounded in Interconnection, Systems Thinking, and Equity & Action, the initiative equips students with knowledge and practical skills to support plant-based, environmentally responsible choices. Through school-based learning activities, the campaign fosters critical thinking, compassion for animals, and community awareness to inspire long-term sustainable behaviour change.

2023

Why Us

Our Campaign’s 3 Pillars

Interconnection

Human health is inseparable from natural systems. We cannot have healthy people on a sick planet.
"Protecting nature and its creatures is protecting ourselves."

Systems Thinking

Problems are complex and connected. We must look beyond simple fixes.
"See the whole web. Heal the whole."

Equity & Action

Solutions must be just. The poor, marginalized, and vulnerable animals suffer first and worst.
"Justice rises together. Action is the only way."

Honest Reviews

Aisha, Age 15

Student Activist (School Garden Project)

Before Conscious Choices, I cared about the environment, but I didn’t know what I could actually do. The Action Toolkit gave me a clear plan and made everything feel possible. My friends and I started a small school garden using the Sapling toolkit, and now it’s something the whole school is proud of. It showed me that activism isn’t just talking—it’s building something real. I now see myself as a changemaker, not just a student.

Daniel, Age 17

Student Leader (Compassion & Equity Campaign)

The I.D.E.A. framework helped me turn my feelings into action. I used to get upset seeing bullying and injustice, but I didn’t know how to respond. Through the toolkit, I organized a kindness and awareness campaign in my school. It helped people see things differently, including me. I learned how to lead, how to speak up, and how to make change in a way that brings people together.
